North Edmonton Districts
Pilot Sound is located in the north central portion of Edmonton's northeast sector. The area is bounded by 66 Street to the west, Anthony Henday Drive to the north and northeast and 153 Avenue to the south. Pilot Sound encompasses Brintnell, Cy Becker, Gorman, Hollick-Kenyon, Matt Berry and McConachie.
Lake District, also known as Edmonton North, is located in the eastern portion of Edmonton's north sector. The area is bounded by 97 Street to the west, Anthony Henday Drive to the north, 66 Street to the east and 153 Avenue to the south. Belle Rive, Crystallina Nera, Eaux Claires, Klarvatten, Lago Lindo, Mayliewan, Ozerna and Schonsee comprise Lake District.
Castle Downs is located in the central portion of Edmonton's north sector. It is bounded by 127 Street to the west, Anthony Henday to the north, 97 Street to the east, 153 Avenue and Castle Downs Road to the south of 153 Avenue. Baranow, Baturyn, Beaumaris, Caernarvon, Canossa, Carlisle, Chambery, Dunluce, Elsinore, Lorelei and Rapperswill comprise Castle Downs.
The Palisades is located in the western portion of Edmonton's north sector. The area is bounded by a Canadian National rail line to the west, Anthony Henday Drive to the north, 127 Street to the east and 137 Avenue to the south. Albany, Carlton, Cumberland, Goodridge Corners, Hudson, Oxford and Pembina comprise The Palisades.
Griesbach is located between 137 Avenue, 153 avenue, Castledowns Road and west of 97 street. In the 2000's Griesbach began redeveloping as a non-military residential community, as it is no longer part of the Canadian national defense facility. Griesbach takes its name from Major General William Antrobus Griesbach who was a veteran of the Boer War and WW I, as well as a practicing lawyer and Edmonton's youngest mayor in 1907. The Griesbach neighborhood is an unique sole community.
