About Beacon Heights Edmonton Properties

Beacon Heights Edmonton is a historical community. It was once one neighbourhood that made up the area called Beverly. After 1910 rich coal seams were discovered and coal mining spurred development. In 1913, Beverly was incorporated as the Village of Beverly and in 1914 became a town. In 1961 Beverly amalgamated with the City of Edmonton to later be divided into neighbourhoods including Beacon Heights.

 

The earliest residential real estate development in Beacon Heights occured in 1910 with one in ten of the residences in the neighbourhood were built by the end of World War II. Three out of four residences are single family dwellings, with most of the remainder being split almost equally between apartments in low rise buildings of under five stories and duplexes. Southern Belle is the sole condominium complex in Beacon Heights Edmonton.
