Aldergrove Edmonton was developed during the 1970s and 1980s as one of the communities in the West Jasper Place Area Structure Plan in West Edmonton. Aldergrove follows a growth strategy common during that time. Houses for sale in Aldergrove Edmonton are located walking distance to West Edmonton Mall.

 

Housing units were planned and designed to make more efficient use of land by allowing for more multi family development and subdividing smaller lots. This strategy was used in order to preserve agricultural land, conserve energy, and provide for more efficient delivery of services. Condominiums are an integral part of Aldergrove and are situated along collector roads, school, and shopping facilities. Detached houses occupy the western portion of the Aldergrove and accounts for over half of the total dwelling units.
