Lewis Estates in West Edmonton was developed for a retirement community. When Lewis Estates began the construction of single family houses, it was focused around the Lewis Estates golf course. There were no schools in the district, thus focusing on an active retirement aged population. This is also one of the few areas in west Edmonton which houses are relatively newer and offer many bungalow style homes.

Today there are several condominiums, including a retirement condo, only steps away from the golf course. With the expansion of the Lewis Estate district, there is now several duplexes, and smaller dettached single family houses further west and to the south in the Grange. Lewis Estates in West Edmonton is comprised of seven communities including Breckenridge Greens, Potter Greens, Rosenthal, Secord, Stewart Greens, Suder Greens and Webber Greens.
